Youhorse.auction had a remarkable edition on the evening of Tuesday, September 3, with immense interest in the strong collection of showjumping horses. The highlight was the four-year-old Pablo Escobar KJV (Carrera VDL). A fierce bidding duel developed between Portugal and Germany, and with the final bid of €90,000, the horse was sold to a showjumper competing for Germany.
Teus van den Brink, who has previously had success as a buyer at Youhorse.auction, was this time on the other side as the seller of Pablo Escobar. Van den Brink could hardly believe his eyes: “As we speak I’m at the party of Maikel van der Vleuten, celebrating his bronze medal from Paris, and I kept putting my glasses on to follow the bidding. It was very special and very exciting. I've had this horse since it was a foal. For years, I bought about 20 to 25 foals per year, but this year I decided to take it easy. However, I’m starting to feel that itch again,” laughed the horse trainer from Nijkerkerveen.
Auction organizer Mario Everse was very pleased with how the evening unfolded: “We had a fantastic night! Expectations were already high, as the collection included some real top talents. It’s wonderful to see that the quality was recognized and appreciated. A great boost for the auction and the sellers!”
In addition to auction topper Pablo Escobar (Carrera VDL x Numero Uno), Germany gained seven more showjumping horses. This group included the six-year-old Classido (Cascadello I x Dollar de Pierre), which sold for €60,000, the four-year-old Pentiom VW (Tangelo v/d Zuuthoeve x Heartbreaker), which fetched €30,000, and the four-year-old Dominca Z (Dominator 2000 Z x Calido I), which was sold for €24,000.
Scandinavia had a notable presence with ten purchases. Six horses are set to continue their careers in Sweden, while the four-year-old mare Udarcaheart-M (Darco x Heartbreaker) will move to Denmark for €32,000.
Palermo (Cardento x For Fashion) was hammered down at €36,000, with the four-year-old stallion going to a buyer from Monaco. Three other horses each changed hands for €28,000.
October Auction: champions and excitement
On Tuesday, October 1, there will be a new round and new opportunities to secure a future talent. The October auction is expected to be one for the books, predicts the Youhorse.auction team. Mario Everse offers a sneak peek: “We love helping breeders with their sales, so alongside the usual selection of young loose-jumping talents and ridden horses, we’ll also be auctioning some interesting breeding material. Last Friday, we had a great collaboration with the AES studbook and even got to record a champion foal on video for the auction. It promises to be a spectacular event. And here’s something extra exciting: we’ll also be catering to dressage enthusiasts again,” promises Mario Everse.
The selection/video days will take place soon: “We’re organizing video and selection days on Monday, September 9, and Tuesday, September 10. There are still a few spots available! So if anyone wants to sell a standout sport horse, foal, or embryo, they can still sign up quickly via www.youhorse.auction.”
