Untouchento VDL Z lights up New Year’s edition Youhorse.auction

Author: AW

The first auction of the new year at Youhorse.auction delivered an evening full of surprises and some spectacular highlights. The standout moment of the night was the sale of Untouchento VDL Z, who fetched an impressive €65,000.

The champagne corks popped on Tuesday evening, January 7, when buyers from the Czech Republic became the proud owners of this five-year-old gelding, a son of Untouched x Cento. Notably, his dam is none other than Cella, the former top horse of Ben Maher, while his granddam is the legendary Usha van ‘t Roosakker.

In addition to Untouchento VDL Z, Cappucino du Vi Z (Cornado I x Contendro) also sparked an exciting bidding duel. The six-year-old stallion was sold to Sweden for €45,000. Meanwhile, the six-year-old mare Starella (Stakkatol x Christian) is heading to the United Kingdom for €40,000. Spanish buyers invested €19,000 in the four-year-old gelding Evolve v/d Braembeier Z (Emerald van t Ruytershof x Carnute).

International success
The global appeal of Youhorse.auction was once again evident during this edition. Europe took the lead, with nine buyers from Spain, followed by seven from France and six from Germany. Hungary and Poland each made their presence felt with five purchases apiece. Remarkably, horses were also sold to countries such as Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Panama and Mexico.

Event organizer Mario Everse is pleased with this first auction of the year: “We started 2025 the way we ended 2024: an exciting auction with many happy buyers and sellers. The consignors have shown they are truly committed to selling and wish the buyers success. There’s no doubt many buyers will be thrilled with these deals and will enjoy these horses immensely in the new year. It’s always fascinating to see how buyers from all over the world find their way to our platform. Whether you're looking for a young talent or an experienced showjumper, our online auction connects supply and demand on a global scale.”

Valentine’s Auction on February 4
Youhorse.auction isn’t slowing down: the next edition is already scheduled for Tuesday, February 4. “Mark that date in your calendar! Our Valentine’s collection will set hearts racing,” promises Mario Everse.

The video and selection days for the March auction will take place on Monday, February 10, and Tuesday, February 11. “Anyone looking to sell an exceptional sport horse can register it here.”
